FOR PARENTS AND TEACHERS DISCUSSION
I wanted to share this video with you because I think it is a great example of the importance of parent/teacher relationships. This little episode may very well have changed this young ladies future. Here is why it worked, the teacher recognized a problem and she pulled no punches in telling it like it was. The parent listened and followed up, and the girl found out she couldn’t get away with half truths . I would like to encourage all teachers to know their students well enough to communicate their strengths and weaknesses to the parents. And for parents, keep in touch with your children’s teachers with an open mind. Teachers often see things that you may miss and can be a valuable source for information that could help you with your parenting. Grades 1-6 are your child’s formative years so it is most important to have this parent/teacher relationship during this time. Please may I have your comments. G. Web Ross
